I’m on a bike.
For the past two or so months I’ve been on a bike. That is to say- I gave up the car (or it gave out, rather) and have been using a bicycle as my primary means of transportation. In those two months I’ve been yelled at (by an old lady that will not pass her next driving test- if she lives that long), cut off (by a chick talking on her phone), honked at (by rednecks- mostly), forced off the road (by a garbage truck!), argued with (by a city bus driver) and even told to get a job (by a cheeky fellow in a mercedes – really?). I’ve also been smiled at, waved through, nodded towards, and otherwise accepted as a member of the road.
By far, I have encountered more fellow road citizens without incident than I have with.
So why another bicycling blog?
I don’t know. I’ve really gotten into this whole cycling thing. And since I can’t right about my work (seriously- I can’t even put a link in here pointing to their site), I figured I might as well start going after something that interests me.
You’ll notice a few categories over on the right. ➦
Let me elucidate on them in no particular order:
• Road Ragers Anonymous: Quips, stories and otherwise anything else relating to stupidity on the road; by operators of cars AND bicycles.
• Gear Up: Upgrades, new, shiny, and other bicycling-gear-related-news.
• Gear Down: Shed weight, increase endurance, speed, times et cetera.
• Eat It!: Mostly nutrition here.
This site will be here if I write or not. It will be great if a community starts to form around it. There are a few ways to help foster said community:
• Connect on Social Networks
The Facebook and Twitter links here and up in the top right are for Share The Road Boise- sort of the shell-come-parent organization around my effort to be a part of a cycling community.
• Comment
I’ll try to respond to every comment. Please feel free to comment anonymously, but please also remember this is about trying to build a community; so join the fun and let us know who ya are. One more thing on comments: I do have a Comments Policy, please read it.
• Contribute
